What will 2016 bring in HR Tech?

Employee wellbeing

Although most HRIS platforms have ways of monitoring performance and issues the trend is towards developing more sophisticated schemes to improve staff well being. Not all issues are made apparent by absence records or quarterly reviews. Josh Bersin suggests that the developers of FitTech should be preparing for integration with HR management systems. Without doubt innovative ways of building a happy and healthy workforce will be dominating HRIS in 2016.

HR Tech & E-Learning

E-Learning has been around for an age and as some companies and departments invest heavily in their online training platforms, other, surprising large, corporations struggle to integrate it into their professional development schemes. Perhaps the development of mLearning (mobile learning) and increased adoption of BYOD will push companies towards more dynamic, bite-size learning experiences. Is 2016 the year for fully integrated, engaging and effective E-Learning?

Flexible working, freelance careers

One could argue that 2015 was the year of the freelancer. Whether out of choice or necessity being a freelancer or self-employed is on the increase. We’ve seen an increase of freelancers not only in traditionally contract roles like project implementer but also for roles like support technicians where a seasonal or short-term traffic is expected. Whether freelance and flexi models provide real freedom or not for workers, employers are going to have to adapt sufficiently to this new labour economy or lose out on top talent. HR tech is going to have to accommodate this diverse workforce like never before.

LinkedIn

Our favourite from David Green’s comprehensive 10 predictions for HR in 2016 is that someone is going to give LinkedIn a run for its money. Yes please! As other social media platforms have evolved match their user’s needs it appears that LinkedIn has evolved to frustrate, confuse and bore. Amazingly it appears to have made online business networking more tawdry than a breakfast meeting in a Novotel basement. Either LinkedIn will change dramatically or the new kid on the block will steal our hearts in 2016.
